  5. The following is a current list of our shareware programs.   
  6.  
  7. Shareware is a means of distributing software.  Under the shareware concept, 
  8. software may be freely copied and passed along to others, or distributed 
  9. through bulletin board systems or national networks. 
  10.  
  11. As a recipient of a shareware program, you may use the software for a short 
  12. trial period to determine if it meets your needs.  If the software is not 
  13. suitable, then you can discard it. If you decide to use it, you should 
  14. register it. As of May 1, 1990, all Cascoly games will cost $20 each to 
  15. register. When you register you will receive the latest copy of the 
  16. program, plus one or more similar shareware programs. Registration also 
  17. entitles you to online support via CompuServe.  Send email to Cascoly 
  18. Software, CompuServe number 76703,3046.  (We will also answer mail from 
  19. registered users.)

  21. As an additional benefit, registration entitles you to a free introductory 
  22. account on CompuServe.  (Details will be sent when you register.)

  24. All programs run on the IBM PC family of machines.  CGA or higher graphics 
  25. board is required, except where noted.  Disks with all the programs on it 
  26. are available for $15 shipping and handling. (This fee can be applied in full 
  27. towards any subsequent registrations. )

  29. ATC -- An air traffic controller game that's perfect for a few minutes or 
  30. hours of fun.  Easy to learn, but difficult to master.  The game tracks best 
  31. scores at each of 20 levels of difficulty.  Ages 10 and up.  V 1.0 (Supports 
  32. monochrome)

  34. BORDER -- a combination of GO and connect the dots, this abstract strategy 
  35. game for 2 players involves enclosing more area than your opponent, while 
  36. preventing them from stopping you. Ages 12 and up.  V 1.1 
  37.  
  38. ECOMASTER -- A diverting ecology game for one or more players in which you 
  39. bid for and trade animals based on their abilities to thrive in different 
  40. environments.   No previous biological experience is assumed.  Mildly 
  41. educational without belaboring the point. For 1 or more players.  Typical 
  42. games last less than an hour.  For ages 10 and up. V 1.1

  44. FICTIONARY <tm> -- The game of fantastic and farfetched definitions.  Each 
  45. round one player chooses a word that none of the players knows.  You can 
  46. choose your own word or pick one from the large selection included with the 
  47. game.  Then each other player makes up their own definition for the word.  
  48. Everyone votes for the word they think is the correct definition and points 
  49. are scored for guessing the proper one, or misleading other players.  
  50. Special rules allow play by 2 or even 1 player.   Ages 12 and up.  V 1.31

  52. The registered version of this program also includes a utility program that 
  53. lets you customize the word list that comes with the game.  You can even 
  54. create specialized lists for use as a vocabulary tester.

  57. Other Programs: 
  58. CAPBUF is a memory resident (TSR) program that lets you capture any text 
  59. screen and save it for later processing or printing.  It is quite useful for 
  60. programs that do not otherwise provide means of printing their results.  Use 
  61. it for intermediate results of games, or collecting copies of messages while 
  62. on a bulletin board.  Also includes a filter to remove line drawing 
  63. characters.

  67. UDECIDE helps you make decisions such as which software or hardware to 
  68. purchase; ratings surveys; which project to pursue; ranking; or selecting 
  69. colleges, movies, stocks, or wines.  You enter a list of elements by which 
  70. you will evaluate the contenders, optionally giving each a weight.  Then you 
  71. enter the possible options, and assign a value to each element.  You can 
  72. then sort to obtain an ordered list of the best options.  Or you can perform 
  73. what-if analyses by changing elements or weights.

  78. How old was Paul Revere when he rode into history?  How many years separated 
  79. Michelangelo and Cortez?  With CHRONOS, you can sort and select by 
  80. individual people and events, or groups and factions, to develop new 
  81. insights and trace patterns across different eras and cultures.  CHRONOS 
  82. will be useful to history and art students, teachers, genealogists, writers 
  83. or anyone interested in exploring historical relations or cultural events.

  85. CHRONOS comes with 2 datasets already installed, which you can modify or add 
  86. to.  Or you can design your own. Another use might be to add your family 
  87. tree to a dataset of 20th century events. Registered users will receive the 
  88. current program along with any updated datasets available.
